The SMS service is available for all Sendmachine accounts. After logging in, access the SMS menu from the control panel and follow the activation steps. To benefit from all SMS service functionalities, you must have signed a Sendmachine Service Agreement. You will receive a confirmation email when the service is active.
Yes! This is one of Sendmachine’s major advantages. You can use the same account and the same intuitive platform for both services. You do not need to create a separate account.
Yes, Email and SMS services are billed separately because they have different operating costs. You can have active packages for both services simultaneously or only for one of them, depending on your needs.
No. To send SMS through our platform, you need an active account on sendmachine.com. Registration is free and only takes a few minutes.
When you purchase an SMS package, you receive credits, which you use to send messages.
Basic rule: 10 credits = 1 SMS
Credits are automatically deducted from your account for each message sent. You can see your credit balance in the control panel.
Credits can be used within a validity period of 12 months from the purchase date. Any unused credits after this period will expire.
Yes! The free trial includes 50 credits - 5 messages of up to 160 characters each. Register for free and test all functionalities before deciding!
To send an individual message directly from the Sendmachine platform:
Go to the Sendmachine control panel
Access the menu: SMS → Send SMS
Add the phone number (in format +40XXXXXXXXX)
Write your message (max. 160 characters for 1 SMS)

To send an SMS campaign to multiple recipients:
Log in to your Sendmachine dashboard
Go to SMS → Contacts and create a contact list
Add phone numbers to the list (in +40XXXXXXXXX format)
Go to SMS → Campaigns, create a new campaign, and select your contact list
Write the message you want to send
Send the campaign (make sure you have enough credits available)
In Contacts → Your List in the Sendmachine dashboard:
Manual method: Add numbers one below the other, one number per line.
Import from file: Upload a CSV file containing the phone numbers.
Yes! If you already have contact lists for Email Marketing, you can also use them for SMS as long as they contain phone numbers.
Additional fields allow you to personalize SMS messages. Examples: name, surname, city, last purchase, etc.
You can use placeholders like [[NAME]] or [[SURNAME]] in your message and the platform will automatically replace them with each contact’s data.
Example: “Hello [[NAME]], we have a special offer for you!”
The length of the message may vary depending on the content of these fields (for example, a longer or shorter name), which can affect the number of SMS messages sent and, consequently, the final cost of the campaign.
How many additional fields can I add?
The number depends on your package.
GDPR-compliant methods:
Website form: opt-in checkbox (“Yes, I want to receive SMS offers”)
In-store sign-up form with phone number and signature
Contests where participants give consent during registration

Buy phone number lists (illegal in the EU)

Phone numbers may be unsubscribed manually through the control panel by navigating to the Contacts section, selecting the relevant list, and accessing the “Unsubscribe Contacts” option. You may then enter the phone numbers that no longer wish to receive messages (one per line).
Important: Each campaign message must include a valid and functional unsubscribe option, provided through an unsubscribe link.
During the campaign creation process, at the final step, select the “Schedule for later” option and set your desired date and time. You can schedule campaigns days, weeks, or even months in advance, and the system will automatically send the messages at the specified time.
Important:
Campaigns cannot be scheduled before 09:00 AM or after 08:00 PM.
Also, the scheduled date must fall within the validity period of the available credits in your account.
Go to the Sendmachine dashboard → SMS → Statistics.

A standard SMS contains a maximum of 160 characters and consumes 10 credits.
A standard SMS contains up to 160 characters and consumes 10 credits. If the message exceeds 160 characters, it is automatically split into multiple segments, each billed as one SMS and containing up to 153 characters.
SMS messages can include only standard characters. Romanian special characters (ă, î, ș, ț, â), emojis, or other special symbols are not compatible with SMS delivery.
Your credit balance is displayed in the Sendmachine control panel, on the main dashboard - Details section. The platform shows the number of credits consumed from the initial amount.
Yes! You can include links to your website, products, offers, or any other URL.
The link will appear exactly as you write it in the message (example: site.ro/offer)
Recommendation: Use shorter URLs to save characters (example: site.ro/promo) or use URL shortening services.
Some phones automatically convert text into clickable links, others do not — it depends on the recipient’s phone.
The message is sent as plain text, without special formatting.
Extremely fast! 90% of SMS messages are delivered in less than 10 seconds. You can see real-time delivery status for each message in the statistics panel.
From your Sendmachine account control panel:

Reminder: When you purchase a package, you receive the credits immediately.
